When one of our students makes it to their first day of Fulfillment Fund University , it means they have officially transitioned from our College Access Program to our College Success Program. It’s a major milestone in their relationship with Fulfillment Fund and their journey to adulthood.
Fulfillment Fund University is a defining marker for our students. It means they have just graduated from high school and will be headed into college in the fall. These months between high school and college are crucial as students often suffer from a nationwide phenomenon known as the “summer melt,” where recent high school grads accepted to college do not follow through with enrollment or attendance. The reasons for this can range from missing an orientation deadline, failing to upload a financial aid document, or feeling overwhelmed by the entire process. Students who are from underserved communities are more susceptible to summer melt.
For this reason, all of our College Success students are required to attend Fulfillment Fund University, which aims to combat the summer melt and ensuring that they successfully enroll in their classes for the fall. This year, we have just wrapped up our student workshops, thanks to the support of Comerica Bank, and will offer our last component of the series this week.

Fulfillment Fund University for Parents
While our scholars and students may be all done with their Fulfillment Fund University workshops, this week, we will engage parents in one last session. The workshop will include an informative presentation by our College Success Advisors that will address FAQs and financial aid concerns, followed by a panel of Fulfillment Fund parents who have already been through this process.

Summer Fest 2022
Traditionally, we have hosted Holiday Homecoming every December, and this year we are launching Summer Fest. Taking place on July 30th, we will welcome our incoming college freshmen and connect them with upperclassmen also in our program. It will be a fun BBQ that will ignite a sense of community among our students to build a stronger community around them.
