"I'm so grateful to have found a community to stand by me as I overcome life's challenges."
Can you imagine finding yourself without a home, friends or family to support you, and learning that you have been diagnosed with cancer?
This is what happened to Sherin Dief. At the age of 60, she found herself homeless and alone, seeking temporary comfort in a shelter where language served as a huge barrier to communicating her needs. As if this hardship wasn’t enough, Sherin’s health quickly began deteriorating, and she soon learned that she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
As Sherin felt the world closing in on her, she turned to ACCESS. Through the support and generosity of individuals like you, Sherin was able to receive housing, furniture, legal services, and critical medical coverage, which was vital to her battle against cancer and journey towards recovery.
Today, Sherin is doing so much better, physically and emotionally. She is happy in her new apartment, surrounded by a caring community. Most importantly, her spirit is strong.
And here at ACCESS, our spirit is resilient and so is our hope for the future. But we need your help to continue this legacy of helping community members through their struggles. Your support gives life to countless ACCESS programs in Southeast Michigan and nationwide. In this season of giving, you can empower many families and individuals encountering difficulties to stand back on their feet.
Help us make a difference in the lives of thousands of others with stories similar to Sherin’s. Donate today! ([link removed])
