John,
Yesterday my team and I marched in the Stockton Fourth of July Parade and it was amazing to see our whole community together again. There's really nothing like the 4th of July in the Valley.

But after we were all together celebrating our nation's independence, we saw the news about the devastating shootings in Highland Park and then Philadelphia. And once again, my heart was broken for our country.
The freedom for our families to celebrate in safety. The freedom for a women to control her own body. It's all at stake right now. But I believe it's in moments like these when we have to come together and fight for what’s right.
Today I’m doubling down on my commitment to fighting for the America that I know is possible. I hope you’ll join me.
