Good morning,
Since 2002, the Maricopa Area Labor Federation has awarded the Andy
Ward Scholarship to three applicants who are union members or the
dependents of union members to help with the educational or vocational
expenses.
The awards this year will be in the amount of $2,000, $1,000, and $500, to applicants who submit an essay based on this prompt:
"In today’s polarized political climate and the antiunion behavior
exhibited by some of our elected officials, how can unions positively
impact the political process in order to benefit workers and their
communities in the upcoming elections?"
You can view more information about the MALF Andy Ward Scholarship here on the MALF's website, and you can view and download the scholarship application here.
The essay, cover sheet, and application deadline has been extended to Monday, July 11th, 2022. Please send them to the MALF Education Committee
Chair, AFT Arizona President Ralph Quintana, at
