In case you missed it, John:

Last week, the Supreme Court made a decision on West Virginia v. EPA which
severely limits the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ability to
reduce greenhouse gas emissions under the Clean Air Act.

That means that we're no longer just up against the corrupt fossil fuel
industry and a gridlocked Congress — as if that's not enough — but also an
anti-regulatory Supreme Court.

But it doesn't mean the fight for a just, clean, and renewable future is
lost. Far from it.

Now, we're setting our sights on President Biden. He has the authority to
set us on the path toward climate justice through executive action, and we
must demand that he follow through on his climate promises. But we can't
do it alone.

So, in this crucial moment, we all need to do everything we can to put an
end to the fossil fuel industry's corruption and destruction. That's why
we've put together your supporter record, so you can see all you've done
for the climate movement in 2022. Will you take a moment to review it?

John -

The Supreme Court just dealt a major blow to our climate movement. I'm
going to explain exactly what happened, but first [ [link removed] ]I need to ask you to
help us fight back with a
$3.50
donation today — or any amount you can — so we can mobilize our movement
and call on Biden to hold polluters accountable.

Here's what happened,
John:

Today's decision on West Virginia v. EPA limits the Environmental
Protection Agency's (EPA) ability to reduce greenhouse gas emissions under
the Clean Air Act.

The Supreme Court sided with the fossil fuel industry to strip the EPA of
the power to do its job: protecting the environment and our communities
from a growing climate crisis.

By limiting the EPA's authority to regulate pollution from the energy
sector, which accounts for a quarter of the U.S. emissions that are
contributing to climate change, the Supreme Court is putting our
environment, our climate, and our health in danger.

It's clear that we cannot continue to rely on an anti-regulatory Supreme
Court that is in the pockets of industry to protect our families and our
climate. It must come from our movement — from the people.

The good news is that this decision does nothing to undermine Biden's
authority to follow through on his climate promises through executive
action — which is why I am hoping I can count on your help today:

[ [link removed] ]President Biden must step up where the EPA no longer can. Can you
please pitch in
$3.50,
or anything you can, so that we can generate as much pressure on Biden as
possible to hold polluters accountable?

We're calling on Biden to send a signal to the industry and SCOTUS by
declaring a climate emergency, stopping the federal approval of all new
fossil fuel projects that are harming our communities and fueling climate
chaos, and accelerating a just, clean, and renewable energy transition.

Momentum is on our side. Biden followed through on our movement's demand
to use the Defense Production Act to boost renewable energy manufacturing
under the guidance of workers, environmental justice communities, and
other impacted people.

The time for executive action on climate is now — we have no more time to
waste.

[ [link removed] ]Please chip in
$3.50
right now so we can harness the full weight of our movement to demand a
strong response from President Biden.

This news is very hard to hear, but we're in this movement together and
we'll never stop fighting for the future we deserve.

Thank you for never giving up.
