Nothing beats baseball, team.
Since the 1980s, I would watch my favorite team, the Montreal Expos, (now known as your World Champion Washington Nationals) after long days working on the farm in Big Sandy.
But did you know that Montana is one of only two states that does not have a single major league professional sports team or border a state that has a major league professional sports team?
Even worse -- Major League Baseball is planning to cut ties with dozens of Minor League Baseball teams, including right here in Montana.
Now is not the time for MLB to reduce its role in baseball in rural America. Our communities are deeply invested in our minor league teams. These teams keep Montanans connected to MLB, provide affordable family entertainment, and spur economic development and job growth across the state.
I’m calling on Major League Baseball to keep its partnership with Montana’s Minor League Baseball teams and continue investing in rural communities. If you agree, sign your name now.
Thanks for stepping up to bat,
Jon
