Hello John,
Was it 1776 or 2022 when a group of freedom-minded people defied their oppressive rulers with a declaration?
The answer is both.
You already know about the signing of America's Declaration of Independence in 1776, but you might not have heard about dozens of brave, young members of Students For Liberty who recently gathered in Kabul, Afghanistan:
(For their physical safety, we've blurred their faces.)
Today, the ideas of liberty are still so dangerous in parts of the world that even speaking about them is a defiant act of bravery. This event in Kabul is only one of 1,902 events we organized in the last 12 months, from Argentina to Zimbabwe, and in the U.S., from sea to shining sea. Both now, as then, the human spirit cries out for its unalienable, individual rights. Both the Continental Congress in Philadelphia and Students For Liberty in Kabul inspire us with their principled commitment to individual rights, and acts of defiance against oppression. Your generous support instills in each new generation a commitment to unalienable rights in the United States and around the world. Your generous support provides the training and resources that inspire brave declarations of liberty here and abroad. Your generous support of Students For Liberty today enables university students everywhere to envision and work to bring about a freer future. This Independence Day, and every day, I'm grateful for your support of our students, and your commitment to helping them realize everyone's right to live free.
Sincerely & For Liberty,
Wolf Dr. Wolf Von Laer Chief Executive Officer
