Hi JOHN,

I hope your Fourth of July is a day filled with friends, family, beer (If you’re over 21😊), BBQs, and of course… fireworks! 💥💥

Leigh, Miles and I spent the morning at the Travis parade in Staten Island… America’s longest running Fourth of July Parade. This year's Grand Marshal, Lieutenant Colonel Adam Scher, is someone near and dear to my heart. Adam, a native Staten Islander, represents everything that is great about this country. He has completed five deployments as an infantry officer to both Iraq and Afghanistan and most recently, served alongside me at the Pentagon on the Secretary of Defense’s Covid Task Force. 

Today, as we celebrate all that is incredible about America, let’s not forget that our freedom is not free. Men and women like Lieutenant Colonel Scher dedicate their lives to service, so please make sure to toast them as well today!!
