Dear John,

The other night, I was told about yet another journalist who was personally berated by Rep. Jerry Nadler for having me on his radio show. This is not the first time the Congressman has intervened in our campaign; countless donors have told me he's pressured them directly, while his staffers follow me to events and chastise community leaders who dare to meet with me.

As far as I am concerned, this is good news. I must be doing something right, because I've certainly got the attention of Congressman Nadler!

The fact that Mr. Nadler is personally reaching out to journalists and supporters shows this campaign has momentum and that as a candidate, I'm a serious contender.

Can you chip in now to send the message that we will not be stopped? ([link removed])

Sadly, our Congressman's behavior is on the wrong side of democracy. Primaries are the only vehicle we have to hold our democratic leadership accountable. Especially at a time when so many groups, including women and moms with young kids like me, are underrepresented in government.

When existing leadership is not challenged, important policies tend to be overlooked in favor of preserving power. It's one of the reasons we're still waiting for equal pay, paid family leave, and universal childcare and Pre-K.

Having worked in government, I've seen the insiders game first-hand. The establishment and their allies often join forces to intimidate possible primary challengers.

That it's happening to me only propels me further into this race. I am so grateful for all of you who have supported me.


I hope you'll join me in saying NO to machine politicians who are more interested in protecting their own power than the needs of the people. ([link removed])
