This weekend is a time for all of us to recharge, enjoy quality time with our family, and enjoy some good food and fireworks.
But more than that, it's a time to reflect on the real meaning of Independence Day — to commemorate the day 246 years ago when our founders embarked on the greatest experiment the world has ever seen.
They set out to build a nation on the ideals of freedom, equality, and justice. And for two centuries, Americans have fought to achieve those ideals, standing against oppression and tyranny in all its forms.
Florida Senate Democrats are ready to continue that fight today — to stand up for our freedoms no matter what, and to make sure our state and our nation can continue to be a beacon of light for millions across the world.
