John,

Growing up, the Fourth of July meant a great deal to my family. We got together and celebrated no matter where we were in the country or around the world.

The Fourth of July is actually one of my very favorite holidays.

It's an opportunity for people in all corners of the country to celebrate what is unique about being American. It's an opportunity to take a moment and show gratitude for the veterans – and the folks who are on active duty right now – who have served our country so honorably. As a third-generation military veteran, this is important to me.

Independence Day also carries special meaning for the place we call home – Pennsylvania. It is the birthplace of our country, of our very democratic republic. And there's a lot to be proud of these days too: From securing historic infrastructure advancements to passing – with bipartisan support – the most significant gun violence prevention legislation in a generation, which will help keep our kids and communities safe, we're making progress.

But as we've seen in just the past few weeks – with Roe v. Wade being overturned and inflation affecting our economy – there's a lot of work to be done. And you have my word that I will continue to fight for the families of PA-06.

I couldn’t be more excited to know that people are out and about today, celebrating not only our country, but the people who make it so great – people like you, John.

From my family to yours, happy Fourth of July!

Chrissy
