Team:
Today marks the independence of the United States and the beginning of a new wave of democracy that encompasses freedom, justice, and liberty.
Over the past 246 years, we have made great strides in terms of the democratic progress. Yet, there have been tremendous setbacks, especially over the past month.
As we reflect on the legacy and foundation of our nation, we must acknowledge the rights that have been stripped away. It feels difficult to celebrate the independence of our nation today after SCOTUS overturned Roe v. Wade, stripped states from enforcing commonsense gun laws, limited the EPA's ability to curtail air pollution, and so much more.
We must continue to come together and fight for human rights and equality for everyone — especially right now.
This Independence Day, we need to commit to vote, organize, march, and fight until everyone feels the independence, justice, and liberty this nation was promised.
What actions will you commit to taking between today and November?
