Hi John It’s official. Boris Johnson is the man who has the task of steering us to climate safety. That’s why we just blocked his Prime Ministerial convoy on its way to an audience with the Queen - to give him the warning that the Climate Emergency needs be the top of his agenda. We presented him with a guide on exactly how to tackle the climate crisis now that he’s in office. This is a crucial moment in history and what happens next is on his watch. Join more than 460,000 people who have already demanded that the UK government tackle the climate emergency we’re in. In a week when the UK is experiencing yet another heat wave, [1] and globally, July is on track to become the hottest month on record, [2] it’s clear that our climate is breaking down. The new Prime Minister is entering office at a time of crisis. It will be his job to help tackle the climate emergency that’s dangerously heating our planet and threatening the lives of hundreds of millions of people around the world. But he’s become Prime Minister off the back of a campaign that was partly funded by a climate change denier. [3] It’s far from clear that he’s prepared to take the type of radical action needed in the face of the emergency. So we literally stopped him in his tracks today - to remind him that we’ll be watching. Call on the new Prime Minister to act on the climate emergency:
Flo,
