Masses imploring Our Lady of Mount Carmel & July 16 Feast Day Holy
Mass
Dear Friend,
Our Lady of Mount Carmel, also
known as the Virgin of Carmel, is a title given to the Blessed Virgin
Mary – for she is the Patroness of the Carmelite Order. The order
began in the 12th century with Christian hermits living in
caves on Mount Carmel in the Holy Land, where they dedicated their
first chapel to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Now, Cloistered Carmelite Nuns,
Carmelite Fathers, Brothers and Lay Carmelites around the world will
soon begin a Novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel before the July
16th Feast Day. In fact, the Discalced Carmelite
Nuns of The Infant of Prague and St. Joseph in Dallas, Texas asked if
we could again join them in praying the novena, not only for the
current state of the Catholic Church, world affairs and the conversion
of sinners, but for our own personal intentions as well as those of
our loved ones.
So, won’t you join me? I ask that
you submit
your intentions, which will be included in nine
days of Holy Masses, from July 7 -15 and one Holy Mass on July 16, the
feast day, where we will
thank the Virgin of Carmel for favors granted and all the blessings we
have received.
Together, let us spiritually climb
that holy mountain with our prayers and sacrifices, as we prepare for
the glorious Carmelite feast day, honoring Our Lady of Mount
Carmel.
Holy Mary, everlasting strength and
mercy because of thy efficacious intercession, pray for us!
