The latest January 6th Committee hearing has made Trump’s role in the deadly Capitol insurrection on January 6th, 2021 crystal clear.

In fact, a recent POLITICO poll even found that a majority of Americans support the Department of Justice bringing legal action against officials that attempted to overturn the results of an election.

But the DOJ still has not opened a criminal investigation into Donald Trump’s role in the Jan 6th insurrection.

With public pressure mounting for Attorney General Merrick Garland to investigate Trump’s crimes, we want to know what grassroots Democrats think:

During the last hearing, the public got critical information that Trump sought to join the insurrectionists on January 6th. A formal criminal investigation into Trump’s crimes could provide more information about his role in the Jan 6th insurrection ahead of his likely 2024 presidential run.

AG Garland even said he and Jan 6th prosecutors are closely watching the committee hearings!

But this move could be controversial – if AG Garland decided to move forward with prosecuting Trump, he would be the first former president ever indicted for criminal conduct.
