Politico reports that just minutes before the Senate was set to begin counting electoral votes on January 6, a top aide to Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson tried to “arrange a handoff of false, pro-Trump electors...to Mike Pence.”
If their coup had been successful, Republicans could have effectively thrown out millions of lawful votes and overturned a democratic election.
When reporters tried to confront Johnson about the coup, according to his telling he was nothing more than an errand boy for an intern — not an accomplice in a scheme that could’ve upended our democracy.
This is shameful. Ron Johnson is a disgrace to our country, and he has got to go.
