Wow. Thanks to hundreds of CREW supporters across the country, we had a very successful Giving Tuesday and exceeded our match goal!
CREW’s work has grown exponentially and increased in urgency over the last three years, and thanks to supporters like you, we’ve been able to keep pace with the Trump administration’s corruption and abuses of power.
But our work is not just about President Trump, it’s about money in politics, government transparency, and congressional ethics as well. Already this week, CREW has had an enormous impact on American democracy. On Tuesday Congressman Duncan Hunter pleaded guilty to misusing campaign funds, three years after CREW filed multiple complaints against him for spending many thousands of dollars in campaign funds on personal expenses (from a family trip to Italy to a $600 flight for a pet rabbit—really). CREW’s dogged pursuit of complaints helped lead to a House Ethics investigation and ultimately the criminal investigation that resulted in Hunter’s guilty plea. Now that Hunter is a convicted criminal, CREW has made clear that he must resign from Congress immediately. Read more about Hunter’s guilty plea and our call for his resignation here.
