Congresswoman Lesko Weekly Update |
Good Afternoon,
I hope that you have a blessed and safe 4th of July weekend with your friends and family! God bless America, and God bless those who are serving our nation to protect our freedoms!

Lesko Protects Americans’ Second Amendment Rights
I am fighting alongside my House Republican colleagues to defend our Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms! I signed on to Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler’s (R-MO-04) letter to urge President Biden to immediately end his consideration of a ban on the commercial production of certain types of ammunition. This is just another attempt by the president to take away our Constitutional rights!

Lesko Continues Push to Investigate Attacks on Anti-Abortion Groups as Domestic Terrorism
Attacks on our nation’s pregnancy centers are unacceptable! I joined Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (R-NY-22) and Congressman Mike Johnson’s (R-LA-04) letter to demand that the Department of Justice hold activists who attack pregnancy centers accountable for their acts of domestic terrorism. I also sent a letter with my Arizona Republican colleagues to the Department of Justice to raise concerns about planned attacks against Choices Pregnancy Centers in Arizona.

GET THE FACTS: The U.S. Supreme Court Defends Life
Did you know that it is estimated that over 63 million babies have been aborted since Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973? Thankfully, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned this unjust decision. Constitutional scholars on both sides of the debate agree that Roe was decided on shaky legal grounds. The abortion debate will now finally be returned to the people through their elected representatives.
However, despite the fact that 71% of Americans oppose abortion up to the moment of birth, House Democrats are working tirelessly to establish sweeping federal mandates to push their radical abortion on demand agenda. I oppose this radical push and stand unequivocally in defense of life. We must embody the principles of our cause by offering love, compassion, and support to those who are most vulnerable. Now, more than ever, it is time for both Democrats and Republicans to unite to support vulnerable women and their unborn babies.

Around the District
Austin from our office had a wonderful time touring New Freedom, an intensive outpatient facility that provides former prisoners with support, resources, and training to help them transition back into their communities.
Monica from our office presented a Congressional Recognition to Chaplaincy for the Homeless for their work to provide homeless Arizonans with basic needs and supplies, as well as worship, spiritual guidance, and Bible studies.

Casework Highlight
A constituent contacted us after she withdrew money from her Individual Retirement Account (IRA) and incorrectly received a tax penalty letter from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). After we contacted the IRS, we were able to get her penalty removed and saved the constituent money.

Encouraging Story
I am pleased to share this story about NourishPHX, a nonprofit that provides healthy food to families in need. With inflation hitting record-highs, many families are struggling to put food on the table and are finding it increasingly difficult to access healthy foods as a result. NourishPHX is solving this problem by providing healthy food boxes twice a month to those in need. I am proud of NourishPHX for stepping up to help those in our Arizona communities!
