Sen. Ernst, who has voted repeatedly to destroy Medicare and Medicaid, and has now come out and called for another secret commission to cut Social Security benefits, isn’t alone. Donald Trump’s presidential budgets have called for trillions in cuts to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, and Sen. Mitt Romney has introduced a bill to create a fast-track commission for cuts.

Here’s the thing: Republican politicians can’t win without seniors. That’s why we’re working to make sure that older voters know what their representatives are up to.

Right now, Trump’s campaign is spending millions of dollars in digital advertising, targeting voters aged 65 and older. Trump thinks that he can scare older Americans with enough false, racist claims about immigration that they forget that Trump has proposed cuts to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid in each of his budgets, and his Republican enablers in the Senate have been pushing cuts for decades.

The stakes couldn’t be higher for the future of Social Security in 2020. That’s why we’re fighting back!

We’re making plans to put Senators on notice in their home states―but we don’t have the budget for the full court press we need. With your help, we can make sure Kentucky voters see Mitch McConnell’s attempts to blame Social Security and Medicare for what in fact was the negative impact of the Trump-McConnell tax scam. And Senators Cory Gardner of Colorado and Susan Collins of Maine who have voted in favor of cuts―but don’t tell their constituents the truth. The more funds we’re able to raise, the more Senators we can hold accountable!
