John – it might be hard to believe, but that's me. Although I've left the lumberjack beard and the headset behind, I still carry the lessons I learned during my military service with me today.

My public service started in the Navy. I served three tours as a naval flight officer during the Vietnam War. As the war began winding down, I left the Navy and returned to school. But for the next 18 years, I continued to serve our country in the Navy Reserve as a P-3 aircraft mission commander. Eventually, I retired with the rank of captain.

My time in the Navy taught me a lot about respect, self-discipline, camaraderie, and the sanctity of our democracy. Those lessons still inform my work in the Senate today. They inspire me to bridge divides so we can move our country forward, to win real victories for American families, and to do everything in my power to protect our democracy.

I'm committed to this fight, but there are powerful, deep-pocketed special interests doing everything that they can to divide our country and destroy our democracy. To defeat them, I need you to join me in standing against extremism and for a brighter future.

Can I count on you to stand with me by rushing a donation to protect our Senate majority? We'll only be able to win real progress on issues like driving down health care costs and protecting reproductive rights if we have a grassroots movement powered by people like you.

The fight continues,

Tom
