With your help, we exceeded our June goal with hundreds of grassroots contributions from across Washington state!
June was a challenging month. The Supreme Court’s radical and catastrophic decision to overturn
Roe v. Wade has emboldened Republican state legislatures to pass restrictive laws on essential reproductive healthcare.
Yesterday, however, marked a new month, and an important date. On July 1st, my proposal to ban the sale of high-capacity magazines in Washington officially took effect, a victory six years in the making that will contribute to the safety and well-being of all Washingtonians. In addition, my legislation to expand affordable healthcare also took effect. This law dramatically increases the number of Washingtonians eligible for free or reduced-cost health care at our hospitals.
It is especially important in times like these to remind ourselves of the positive impact we are able to achieve by coming together and passing common-sense laws that help the people of Washington, not special interests.
It’s your support that makes it possible for me to take on these fights.
Thank you again,
Bob
