PowerPAC
Friend -
Not sure about you, but since the lockdown of 2020 happened, I joined a bunch of FB groups to chase down everyday items like toilet paper, paper towels, baby wipes, and yes, even gently used clothing and furniture.
I learned two things since joining those groups: 1) there are plenty of folks out there who genuinely care about their community AND 2) our government could learn a thing or two about caring for our nation from community self-help groups like these.
Today, these groups aren’t focused on toilet paper and paper towels as much. Instead they’ve pivoted their efforts to help families find other basic necessities–tampons and baby formula (and sometimes alerting others about local gas prices).
How great would it be if the representatives we elected would be just as responsive as these FB groups when faced with a crisis?
Rather FB groups, who I’m convinced show more grit and determination than our elected officials, are doing so much more to help families. That’s why PowerPAC believes that the most effective way to build political power is to invest in our communities, to have electeds from the community, and to support local organizations instead of Party-approved organizations.
If you believe that another America is possible, stick around and join us in making good trouble by supporting impactful local organizations and progressive candidates of color.
Thanks for your support,
Edil Mari De Los Reyes, Political Director
