Top Ten in the Country

Dear John,

Bringing our fair share of federal dollars back to the region is the main reason I ran for Congress. For the second year in a row, I’m proud to share that I was named the most effective Congressman in Pennsylvania at bringing federal funding home.

This year, I was also named Top Ten in the country for securing $52.68 million in Community Project Funding for our area.

Local project highlights include the expansion of medical and mental health services, infrastructure upgrades, and multiple projects supporting law enforcement, police and emergency responders. To read the entire list of projects, click here

New Tech Designation for Tobyhanna

Tobyhanna Army Depot contributes $2.9 billion to the regional economy, saves taxpayers’ money, and puts our country in a more competitive and secure position. From my position on the Appropriations Committee, I help invest in Tobyhanna’s workforce and technology.

I am pleased to share that Tobyhanna has been recognized as a planned assembling center for “digital twins” by language I submitted in the Military Construction/Veterans Affairs funding bill.

Before Subcommittee passage, I spoke of Tobyhanna’s potential need for new construction and explained how digital twinning - an exciting new concept and one of the hottest tech trends right now - will give our warfighters the tools they need to keep Americans safe.

Arts Grants Available

The U.S. Department of Justice has released a funding opportunity for “the arts in juvenile justice” based on appropriations I helped secure.

The grant program, Arts Programs for Justice-Involved Youth, directly supports “high-quality arts programs for justice-involved youth to reduce juvenile delinquency, recidivism, and/or other problem and high-risk behaviors.”

I’m a firm believer that the arts can have a positive impact on justice-involved youth. I also know there are multiple programs already operating across the region that could benefit from this opportunity for further funding.

Grant Application

Monday marks the 246^th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, when the Continental Congress officially defined the United States as “free and independent states.”

Today, the Declaration of Independence is recognized worldwide not only as a declaration of freedom, but as a beacon of human rights.

While celebrating with family and friends at backyard barbecues, firework displays, parades and concerts this upcoming weekend, we should also remember our country's brave founders who shaped the ideals that still define our nation today.
