LA Alert

Hi John,

Last week, CODEPINK DC's very own Paki Wieland was a featured speaker at the Divestment Forum co-hosted by World Beyond War and Beyond the Bomb at Busboys and Poets. They discussed the steps needed to cut ties with the war economy and #Divest Arlington from weapons manufacturers. If you're interested in getting involved to help divest Arlington or Washington D.C. from weapons manufacturers, contact Paki to get more involved!

On Thursday, December 5th, CODEPINK will be hosting a demonstration in front of the Georgetown Lush Cosmetics to say it’s time for Lush to close its stores in bloody Saudi Arabia!

When: Thursday, December 5 12PM-1PM

Where: Georgetown Lush Cosmetics, Georgetown 3066 M St NW

The Saudi regime is using Lush and other trendy, “socially conscious” products to whitewash its human rights abuses. By expanding its presence in Saudi Arabia, Lush is going against its stated values and telling the people of Yemen that their suffering can be ignored for a profit. It’s time for Lush Cosmetics to stop normalizing the Saudi monarchy’s behavior. You can join us this Thursday from noon to 1PM at the Georgetown Lush to say we need to get Lush out of Saudi!

Join CODEPINK Co-Founder Jodie Evans and Jane Fonda at Fire Drill Fridays this Friday to connect the climate crisis to migration and human rights!

When: Friday, December 6 at 11AM

Where: Franklin Square

Funding endless war is an existential threat to human life and one of the leading causes of climate change, which is why it’s urgent that we come together in Washington D.C. and make the connection between U.S. militarism and climate change. Join us this Friday and make sure you wear red or one of our CODEPINK Fire Drill Friday T-shirts.  There will be a rally at 11AM. After, supporters are also invited to join us for this week’s arrestable action which is in partnership with ShutdownDC. If you would like to participate, please contact [email protected]

Towards a weapons-free future,

Ariel, Clara, Leonardo, Medea, Michelle, Paki, Teri, Tighe, and the entire CODEPINK DC team

P.S.- It's the end of the year and we're asking for your support. Can you donate $5, $10, or $20 so we can continue to grow our movement for peace in DC?
