From the Trail
Matt has been busy showing his support to our communities during these turbulent and distressing times. Last weekend Matt spoke at a rally in Glens Falls on reproductive freedom, marched in the Brushton Volunteer Fire Department Parade and met with voters at their annual chicken BBQ, and attended the first Tri-Lakes Pride in solidarity with members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Additionally, the team has been working hard to hold Elise Stefanik accountable after new damning evidence emerged this week from Tuesday's surprise January 6th Committee Hearing. And while she is out of the state holding fundraisers with Trump, we are showing up everywhere, every time.
We're working hard to show up across the district - if you'd like to set up an event or if you know of an event Matt should attend, please reach out to our team.

This week, The Times Union ran Matt's Op-Ed about the threat that extremism poses to our country and communities - and how domestic terrorists are emboldened by Congressional allies like Elise Stefanik:
"Jan. 6 was more than a crime — it was an act of domestic terrorism.
I would know."

In the Press
We've been getting our message out in the press as well:
June 24, 2022, The Week "What Requests for Blanket Pardons Tell Us About Jan. 6 Defenders"
Matt Castelli, who aims to unseat Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), tweeted that he wants to know whether Stefanik, who voted against certifying the election results, "knowingly broke the law and coordinated with Rep. Mo Brooks and others to seek a pardon."
June 24, 2022 7 News WWNYTV "Leaders React to Supreme Court Decision to overturn Roe"
From Matt Castelli, a Democrat seeking to unseat Stefanik in NY-21:
The Supreme Court Decision overturning Roe v. Wade and almost half a century of precedent means that millions of American women will immediately be denied the freedom to decide what to do with their own bodies. This is one of the largest roll backs of individual rights in the history of our country, allowing extremist politicians to impose their radical beliefs on the rest of us, including many states where women will be forced to give birth with no exceptions for rape, incest, or the life of the mother. Elise Stefanik voted against the Women’s Health Protection Act which would have guaranteed women’s reproductive rights, and now she is celebrating these very unpopular, sweeping restrictions of individual rights. As a Member of Congress, I will vote to make sure that women, not extremist politicians, have the freedom to make healthcare decisions for themselves without interference from the government.
