Yesterday, the Supreme Court announced its decision on West Virginia v. EPA. The Court's decision will now severely limit the federal government's ability to regulate carbon emissions from power plants, the second largest contributor to global warming in the United States. With this ruling, the Supreme Court has sided with coal companies and their allies, limiting the EPA from setting the kind of highly effective standards we need.

This is one of the most environmentally devastating Supreme Court decisions in decades , and a major blow to the fight against climate change in Pennsylvania and across the nation. Just after its decision to strip many Americans of their reproductive rights, the Supreme Court has once again abandoned precedent and brought us backwards in time. This decision is catastrophic for Pennsylvania’s most vulnerable, who are already overburdened by polluting industries.

To respond, every state is going to need to step up - particularly Pennsylvania, which is consistently one of the largest emitters of carbon dioxide nationally.

We need the help of Pennsylvanians like you. With the EPA’s ability to combat climate change curtailed, we must keep fighting alongside Governor Wolf and environmental champions in the legislature to ensure the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative is put into effect, which would dramatically lower emissions, create goody-paying clean energy jobs, and provide relief to local businesses and working families.

Our work to advance clean energy policies in Harrisburg that will cut costs for families and protect our health has never been more important. And this decision from the Supreme Court will just further embolden our opponents in this existential fight.

We need your help to fight anti-environment policies and win on legislation that will help us avoid climate catastrophe in the wake of this radical decision. The best thing you can do right now is to help power our work with a contribution today. Your support is what powers our campaigns for climate action. [[link removed]]

The Supreme Court has launched an unprecedented assault on justice and progress as it strikes down essential reproductive rights, voting rights, and key environmental protections.
Make no mistake, this decision will severely undermine the EPA's authority to fight climate change.

Corporate polluters are celebrating this decision, but the environmental movement has something they don't — the support of grassroots activists like you who are committed to saving our climate from radical policies.

Our work ensuring our constitutional access to clean air, land, and water needs your help — now more than ever. [[link removed]] Will you stand with us? Make a gift right now to make sure we have the resources we need to stand united against polluters and their allies in Harrisburg following this awful decision. [[link removed]]

Thank you for standing with us at this important moment.
