Congressman Kim Receives New Jersey VFW’s Legislator of the Year Award
On Monday, June 27th, Congressman Kim hosted his monthly town hall and spoke to veterans and their families at the Brick Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 8867. The group discussed Congressman Kim’s work in Congress on behalf of veterans and the issues that matter to them most.
The New Jersey VFW also recognized Congressman Kim as Legislator of the Year for his outstanding work on behalf of veterans and their needs.
Congressman Kim has fought for veterans since his first day in office, including doubling America’s investment in veteran suicide prevention outreach programs, delivering a new, state-of-the-art VA health clinic to Toms River, honoring Gold Star families, and securing $621 million for veteran opioid abuse prevention.
Successful Service Academy Day
Congressman Kim’s team hosted Military Service Academy Day last Saturday to connect students and their families to resources on applying to a Service Academy. Representatives from each Service Academy joined to answer questions. For more information on nominations and how to apply, click here.
Celebrating Mt. Zion African Methodist Episcopal in Riverton
On Sunday, June 26th, Congressman Kim was honored to join Mt. Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church in Riverton to celebrate their 125 Year Anniversary. With the Historical Society of Riverton and Clarence B. Jones Institute for Social Advocacy, Mt. Zion unveiled a historical marker to recognize the church’s history of unifying our community, its long-legacy, and the continued impact it has on the community.
Its long history includes visits by trailblazers like Clarence B. Jones and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Join Congressman Kim at his Town Hall on the Supreme Court’s Overturning of Roe v. Wade
On July 7th at 5:30 p.m., Congressman Kim will host a town hall at Mt. Laurel Community Center to discuss the U.S. Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and share his work to defend access to reproductive healthcare in New Jersey and across the country.
