As the current December debate lineup stands, not a single one of the candidates who will appear on stage is a person of color.

This is a shame. The 2020 Democratic field promised one of -- if not the -- most diverse sets of candidates in modern history, though you wouldn't see that from looking at the frontrunners.

Our party is better than this. It's time we show it.

It's a shame that after this race started with the most diverse field of presidential candidates in the history of the Democratic Party, as it stands right now, not a single person of color is on the debate stage.

It's frustrating that billionaires with bottomless checkbooks seem to have a clearer path to qualify for the debate than grassroots campaigns like ours.

But tough challenges have never stopped Cory before, and they're not going to stop our campaign now. Let me be crystal clear: We are going all out doing everything we can to get Cory on that December debate stage.

We know the candidate that will unite and energize the full breadth of the Democratic Party is the best candidate to beat Trump -- and that's Cory.

Cory has led the field on issues like gun violence plaguing our communities, to the cancer on the soul of our nation that is mass incarceration, to the moral sin of perpetuating intergenerational poverty while corporations pay next to nothing in taxes. He's providing a voice to so many who feel left out of our political process.

Cory can and has united moderate and progressive Democrats. He can and has excited and engaged Black voters, the most loyal constituency of our party. And Cory is the only person in this race who can rebuild the coalition that elected President Obama that we need in order to defeat Donald Trump.

We're going to continue to run this campaign the way Cory's always won campaigns in the past: By outworking the competition with the resources we have from the generosity of people giving what they can -- $5, $10 at a time -- to fuel this campaign. Won't you join them?
