Learn more about the Biden administration's STEM efforts.

Dear John,

We have exciting news. As you may know, recent policy changes by the Biden administration will allow more foreign STEM interns, trainees, and research scholars to come to the United States and temporarily remain after graduation.

These policy changes have opened new avenues for American colleges and universities to connect with individuals in the STEM fields, diversify their student bodies, and play an integral role in uplifting international education.

The American Immigration Council has created a series of guides and FAQs to better understand how the policy changes will affect international students and higher education.

The STEM guides provide overviews on:

  • The Early Career STEM Research Initiative
  • STEM OPT: New fields of study
  • Policy guidance on the O-1 visa and EB-2 National Interest Waiver
  • An Extension of J-1 Academic Training

We hope you find these guides helpful.

Sincerely,

Lisa Murray
