A few weeks ago, we marked the 10th anniversary of DACA, celebrating the
hundreds of thousands of immigrant youth who have been able to live, work, study
and contribute to their communities in the United States without fear of
deportation.

We called attention to the urgent need for permanent protection for DACA
recipients and their loved ones across the country. We also recognized the tens
of thousands of young immigrants who are eligible for DACA but are still unable
to access its protections.

There are nearly 80,000 DACA-eligible immigrant youth whose first-time DACA
applications have been put on hold at USCIS, leaving these young people without
protection. NILC and our co-counsel are returning to court next week on behalf of all of
those immigrant youth to fight for critical relief.

Tens of thousands of immigrant youth need their DACA requests to be processed or
adjudicated so that they and their loved ones have the greatest chance to access
the DACA program and can feel secure in the only country they call home.

We are committed to ensuring every single immigrant has access to the
protections for which they are eligible — and beyond that, ensuring every
immigrant in this country has the freedom to thrive.
