This past Wednesday, President Biden signaled that he supported the idea of Congress changing the Senate filibuster in order to codify Roe v. Wade into law and protect the rights of over 36 million women in this country.

But thanks to Senator Kyrsten Sinema, that likely won’t be happening.

Yesterday, her office stated that the Senator is still opposed to making an exception to the filibuster on any topic, including reproductive rights. This comes just days after Sinema wrote that she would “continue working with anyone to protect women’s ability to make decisions about their futures.”

This is yet another example of how hollow Sinema’s words have become. If she really was a champion of reproductive rights then she’d join the majority of Senate Democrats to codify Roe v. Wade. The truth is that she values the filibuster more.

She’s already chosen the filibuster over voting rights. We know she’ll choose it over reproductive rights next. That’s why we have to ask – can you chip in to help us double our investment against her?
