** "INDEPENDENCE" DAY?
------------------------------------------------------------
As Independence Day approaches Americans prepare to Party.

But in truth Americans are more and more “Dependent” on government and less and less “Independent”.

Nearly half of all Americans live in a household where a government check is received.

59 million Americans receive some sort of welfare benefit.

24 million Americans work for federal, state, or local government.

Additionally we live in a country which imprisons, I.e. takes away, more of its population’s freedom than any other.

We also live in a country where the “rule of law” is not the “rule” we live by as evidenced by the fact that illegal immigration is legal.

We live in a country where government officials families make billions in corrupt deals with foreign countries.

We live in a country where the media acts as a branch of the government and that lies to us daily to help hide government corruption.

We are considering tearing down statues and monuments honoring our countries Founders.

Perhaps we will soon erect statues of King George or General Cornwallis, or Chairman Xi.

Perhaps, as we consider tearing down the monuments of those who died to create and defend our freedom and Independence, we should rename “Independence Day” “Dependence Day”.

But for now Party on!
