Dear John, 

The Sentencing Project’s groundbreaking research and analyses are consumed by a broad audience of academics, policymakers, advocates, media, and directly impacted people, and constitute a mission critical component of our multifaceted work. Given our commitment to ending mass incarceration by using evidence-based policy approaches, I am so pleased to announce the expansion of our research team to include Kristen M. Budd, Ph.D., as a research analyst. 

Over the past ten years, Kristen has been a teacher-scholar in higher education conducting research on sociolegal and criminal justice responses to interpersonal violence with a focus on sex offenses. She will build on her extensive experience to lead and expand various research initiatives, including extreme sentencing and voting rights.
