Dear Free Software
Supporter,

In the lead-up to [LibrePlanet 2022][1], the Free Software Foundation
(FSF) received more workshop submissions than ever before. And because
our LibrePlanet schedule is often chock full of splendid talks
already, we thought it best to present [the workshops][2] in our very
first LibrePlanet workshop series, which ran after LibrePlanet so that
they would not conflict with any talks.

Now that we've had a moment to prepare the videos from our skilled
presenters, we're happy to present the videos in the [LibrePlanet
archives][3] and on our [PeerTube page][4]. If you didn't get a chance
to view or participate in these workshops (and even if you did!), we
hope you'll take the time to learn about how to ["install"][5]
yourself in LibrePlanet, benefit from not [one][6] but [two][7]
workshops on translation, and discover how to run your own
[user-centric][8] IRC network.

While you're looking at FSF videos, don't forget to take a look at and
share our new animated video [*Escape to Freedom*][9], so you can be
just as well equipped for your free software advocacy. We depend on
your support to host workshops like these, and to produce clear,
educational materials like *Escape to Freedom* that help people
improve the state of their digital freedom one step at a time. We're
just over the halfway mark in our spring fundraiser, with only eight
days left to go. Can you help us reach our [spring goal][10] of
$67,000?

**Can you [join this effort][14] as an FSF associate member?** You can
start for as little as $10 per month ($5 for students), or $120 per
year. With your support we can continue to show people how free
software can help drive major change. Besides that, your membership
gives strength to the *idea* of free software. Standing up for, and
sharing your reason to believe in free software can help inspire
others just like you.

The more members we can count, the better we can defend everyone's
freedoms in matters of global importance. Plus, your membership will
count towards achieving our [spring goal][10] of $67,000. You'll also be
able to enjoy all the [member benefits][13], which include merchandise
discounts, a 16GB bootable membership card, and use of our associate
member videoconferencing server. For a membership at the $120 level,
we'll send you a commemorative pin.

Given how well the workshops were received, we're also on the lookout
for people with new workshop proposals so that we can keep the
LibrePlanet spinning year round. If you feel like giving a crash
course in your favorite free program, programming language, or
computer science concept, please do write us at <[email protected]>.

In freedom,

Greg Farough
