Fabulous words of encouragement from Kristan Hawkins, President of Students for Life of America, on Tuesday eveningâs webinar ()
[link removed]
It was a wonderful honour for the Pro Life Campaign to have Kristan Hawkins, President of Students for Life of America, as our special guest on Tuesday eveningâs monthly webinar, to hear her reaction to last weekâs historic pro-life win with the overturning of Roe v Wade.
For millions of Americans, Kristen was the person who broke the news to them last Friday live on television that Roe was no more.
On the webinar, she referred to the dismantling of the 1973 decision that legalised abortion as an âindescribable feelingâ for her and others who had worked for so long and to finally witness what they had toiled for come to fruition.
Kristen also paid tribute to older members of the movement, those alive and those sadly departed, who refused to stay silent and who never gave up the fight for life. She said they were the real heroes âwho put this defeat [for Roe v Wade] in motion.â
She said younger members of the pro-life movement were not going to sit back and relax now that Roe has been overturned but instead have set a goal to make abortion âunthinkable in our lifetime.â
Other contributors to the webinar included Professor William Binchy, Jacki Ascough and Jason Conroy. Professor Binchy talked about the significance of the US Supreme Court decision and the encouragement it gives to the pro-life movement. Jason Conroy talked about the amazing work Students for Life of America are doing in transforming the debate in the US and referenced the growing enthusiasm in Ireland among young people life people to get involved in politics and pro-life activism.
Jacki Ascough described the incredible feeling of hearing the news last Friday that Roe had been overturned and she talked about the hope and possibilities for the future of the pro-life movement. She also called out large corporations who have vowed to pay the travel expenses for employees who opt to travel to neighouring states in the US to access abortions. She challenged their motivation and pointed out that itâs cheaper for these companies to pay for an abortion than the cost of an employee taking time off work to have a baby.
She encouraged people to stop supporting these corporations and to try and take their business elsewhere. Among the corporations who have said theyâll help fund employees abortions are: Disney, Amazon, PayPal, Starbucks, Netflix and Apple.

Janes' Revenge issues chilling threat to pro-life groups in the US ()
[link removed]
Since 2nd May, pro-life groups in the US have received hundreds of threats, including death threats, and more than 70 pro-life centres have been vandalised, five of which involved firebombings. Added to this was the assassination attempt on Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh, by 26-year old Nicholas John Roske from California.
Just a few days ago, the extremist pro-abortion groups issues for following chilling threat to pro-life groups in the US: "We will hunt you down and make your lives a living hell. You started this war but we will win it. So far it's just been pregnancy crisis centers, but tomorrow it might be your cars, your homes, or even your lives. We support a diversity of tactics and we will not step down in this fight." - Signed, Expect us, Janeâs Revenge.
This is a magnificent moment for the pro-life movement in the US and is a time to celebrate the historic overturning of Roe v. Wade. But itâs also a very volatile time where senior political leaders are slow to condemn the violent and dangerous attacks being perpetrated against the pro-life movement.
Raise a glass to the pro-life victory that has been won for certain, but also keep the safety of pro-life volunteers and everyone in the US in your thoughts and prayers at this time!

Send INSTANT ready-to-go message to your TDs asking them to urge Stephen Donnelly to immediately STOP telemedicine abortion ()
[link removed]
The Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly is expected to make a decision very soon on whether to end or sanction the continuation of telemedicine home abortions.
In a very distrubing new finding, 15% of women in the UK said they experienced pressure to go though with an abortion they didn't want to have.*
The HSE in Ireland recently acknowledged** that coercion is MORE likely to occur when abortions happen remotely.
Telemedicine abortion is anti-woman as well as anti-baby.
Take one minute to send an INSTANT message to your TDs asking them to urge the Minister for Health to immediately STOP telemedicine abortion now that Covid 19 measures have been eased in every other area.
You can send an instant message here ([link removed])
*The findings are contained in research conducted for BBC Radio 4
**In an answer to a Parliamentary Question from Carol Nolan TD on 3rd March 2022
