This is a great opportunity to
check in and see how progress is going, now that we are four years
into ‘the largest state-backed home building programme in
generations’.
To date, KiwiBuild has
delivered 1,366 homes, just 98,634 shy of its
target.
With 98.6% of the job left to
complete, at this rate KiwiBuild will deliver 100,000 new homes for
Kiwis by 2315 – just 293 years away!
While National doesn’t want to
dampen this occasion for KiwiBuild and for Labour, we have ‘a few’
concerns that things might not be moving quickly enough.
Let’s not forget:
- The
state house waiting list has hit a record high with over 27,000 Kiwis
and their families waiting for a house - up 500% since Labour came to
office
- More
than 4,500 Kiwi kids will wake up tomorrow living in a motel paid for
by the Government. Labour has now spent $1 BILLION paying for New
Zealanders to live in motels
- Kiwis
are facing rent hikes of up to $150 per week on average
-
The Labour Government’s out of control
spending has significantly contributed to a cost-of-living crisis that
is now hammering Kiwis who are facing higher mortgage payments and sky
high grocery and petrol prices.
One more thing; Kāinga Ora has
removed more state homes in the past year than they have built - 599
new public homes have been delivered since 1 July 2021, but 613 have
been removed.
Labour cannot achieve anything, and
KiwiBuild is the poster child of their failure to deliver.
But hey, don’t forget to sign
KiwiBuild’s birthday card and
