Dear John,

Trump’s EPA has failed to protect bees, people, and our planet. The agency
refuses to ban the brain-damaging pesticide chlorpyrifos.

Even tiny amounts of chlorpyrifos can harm bees and hinder the development of
children’s brains. But it’s still being used on our food.

Trump is following the wishes of pesticide industry lobbyists rather than the
demands of people like you and me. The good news: Congress is considering a bill
to ban chlorpyrifos. Our legislators can protect us where the EPA has failed.
But they will only act if they feel pressure from constituents like you!

Demand Congress ban chlorpyrifos: Protect bees, people, and our planet from
toxic pesticides!

Chlorpyrifos is extremely toxic -- and our leaders know it. Back in 2015, EPA
scientists said that there are virtually no safe uses. But it’s still widely
used in agriculture.

Chlorpyrifos increases the risk of reduced IQ, loss of memory, and autism. Yet
EPA scientists said children are routinely exposed to unsafe levels through food
and water alone. This pesticide is causing a public health crisis.

Farmers, farmworkers, and rural communities are especially at risk of being
poisoned by chlorpyrifos. In fact, nearly 50 farm workers on a single farm were
poisoned just 2 months after Trump’s EPA said they won’t ban it.

Under the Obama Administration, the EPA looked at the science and proposed a
national ban on this nerve poison pesticide. But almost as soon as Trump took
office, he reversed the decision. Now we need Congress to step in and protect us
from chlorpyrifos. We need your help convincing our legislators to act.

Protect bees and our children: Tell Congress to ban the bee-killing and
brain-damaging pesticide chlorpyrifos NOW!

The science is clear: Chlorpyrifos has no business in our food system.
Chlorpyrifos not only harms children’s developing brains, but it’s also linked
to bee decline. It’s the second-most toxic pesticide to bees. And the U.S. Fish
and Wildlife Service found that it threatens more than 1,200 endangered species.

So why hasn’t Trump’s EPA banned it? Perhaps because its manufacturer, Dow
Chemical, has a cozy relationship with the Trump Administration. Dow donated $1
million to Trump’s inaugural committee just weeks before Trump reversed the ban
on chlorpyrifos.

So far, states are taking the lead. Hawai’i, California and New York have all
taken steps to ban it. We need Congress to step up and protect everyone from
this toxic pesticide.

Help send 30,000 messages to Congress: Tell your Representative to ban Dow’s
nerve gas pesticide!
