Dear Friend,
In case you missed it, we were proud to announce earlier this afternoon that the state Supreme Judicial Court has taken up our effort to stop universal mail-in voting from becoming a permanent fixture in Massachusetts elections.
Our view is that it is unconstitutional, as the Massachusetts Constitution lists just three reasons for voting absentee: If the voter is serving overseas or is otherwise out of town, if the voter is disabled, or if the voter has a religious commitment that conflicts with Election Day.
No good will ever come out of diluting the importance and significance of Election Day. I'm proud that every Republican in the Legislature voted against this bill.
The problem is we don't have enough elected Republicans, and that's where you can help us change that.
I set a goal to find at least 20 new donors each day until the end of the current fiscal quarter, and we are close to smashing that goal.
With just six hours to go, can I count on you to make a donation?
