John,
Our country finally ended a decades long and deadly streak of inaction against gun violence: President Biden signed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act into law last week, a package of policies that will save so many lives.
|
With this incredible momentum in Congress and in the face of a Supreme Court decision that threatens gun laws everywhere, we need to push our lawmakers harder than ever to pass more lifesaving legislation, because this bill alone is not enough. One critical piece of this puzzle is banning the weapons of war that have made countless mass shootings deadlier.

It was only last month that a gunman used an AR-15 style rifle to kill 19 children and two teachers in Uvalde, TX. And, make no mistake, John: The death toll was so high because the shooter used an assault weapon, made to kill as many people as possible, as quickly as possible.
|
Yet, NRA pocket politicians refuse to consider life-saving reforms like an assault weapons ban – Texas "leaders" like Greg Abbott and Ted Cruz send empty thoughts and prayer to the survivors and weapons of war remain. Inaction is putting our children, and all Americans, at risk, so we need your help to fight back against the NRA and keep us moving down the path to a better country.
