John,

In the wake of last week’s Roe news and the GOP candidates we’ve been highlighting, the fight to keep extremism out of Maine has gained new importance. If we want to protect abortion and other fundamental rights in Maine, keeping anti-choice, anti-LGBTQ+ politicians like Paul LePage out of office is the first step.

Recent polling shows Gov. Mills with 44% of the vote and Paul LePage with 41% of the vote. That’s a good start, but when people’s lives and safety are on the line, 3% is not a big enough lead. We need to ramp up our efforts every day to keep our lead strong until November.

The Maine GOP isn’t backing down any time soon. Our end-of-quarter deadline is TODAY. We’re trying to raise $5,000 to build momentum against Paul LePage — can you chip in $5 towards that goal? [link removed]

This November, Maine’s character will be tested. Maine Republicans have made their electoral strategy and candidate platform clear: extremism or nothing. Attacks on abortion access are only one aspect of the far-right agenda they hope to impose on Mainers.

Radical Republicans running in Maine want to control every aspect of your life. They think it’s up to them to decide what students can read in school, what type of health care you can access, who you can marry, and what you can do with your body.

We cannot give them a chance to take away our fundamental rights.

Will you help us keep extremists like Paul LePage out of our politics and out of our lives? We can’t risk losing our lead now. Pitch in $5 towards our end-of-quarter deadline before midnight. [link removed]

Thank you,

Maine Dems
