Dear John,
Today, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson was sworn in to serve on the United States Supreme Court. As the first Black female Justice in the institution’s existence, her swearing-in is both historic and influential as she will inspire generations ahead of her to persevere through any obstacle to achieve the pinnacle of their profession and their life’s passion.
At a time when the Supreme Court appears determined to do away with settled law, this is a pivotal moment to join the Court as a Justice. I wish a sincere and heartfelt congratulations to Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, and I have the highest confidence she will work diligently to uphold justice for all.
Sincerely,
Kweisi Mfume Member of Congress
