John,
Before I decided to run for Congress against Steve King, I was living out of state and working as a paralegal. But I had this growing feeling that I needed to be doing something more to help the people around me.
I called my grandma Fern for advice. She always had a way to put things in perspective and remind me of what was most important.
Grandma Fern told me to come back home to Iowa and take care of the farm. And so I did.
My grandma telling me to “take care of the farm” was more than just helping out on the farm she called home for most of her life. It was about taking care of the community and Iowa.
It was time for me to step up and give back, John.
So I ran for Congress in a very red district and didn’t quite pull off a win. But I didn’t give up then and I’m not giving up now. My grandma didn’t raise a quitter.
Now I’m running for the Iowa State House to improve the lives of those around me. We are facing our critical end-of-month fundraising deadline. Will you chip in $10 to help our campaign over the finish line in November?
If elected, I will fight to Grow Iowa! That starts with good-paying jobs for my neighbors. I will work to make sure Iowa’s small businesses aren’t squeezed out by corporate monopolies. And I will wholeheartedly support our educators and public schools when they need it most.
I’ll never forget my grandma Fern. She taught me what it means to be part of an Iowa community. With that, I am ready to get to work!
Standing Tall for All,
