There's still time to double your impact!

Dear John xxxxxx,

We're thrilled to report that the response to Giving Tuesday this year was unprecedented, raising crucial funding to fuel ARC’s work!

We're so grateful and humbled by the outpouring of support.

But we've also heard from supporters who wanted to give but missed last night's match deadline.

If you didn't get the chance to contribute, we're extending the deadline by another day, matching all gifts of $50 or more made by NOON tomorrow (December 5). ([link removed][UNIQID])

There are so many lives that will benefit from your support. Yesterday, we shared the moving Thanksgiving experience of ARC member Mark Taylor. Joseph Osorio, his partner on the Hope & Redemption Team in Pelican Bay, had similar reflections on his first Thanksgiving back home:

Home for the holidays was something I imagined and fantasized about for the past eighteen years living in prison. While many of my incarcerated brothers treated it like any other day, I chose to make the best of it and, like a good host, made sure we all had a little something to be thankful for (even if it was just prison-style pie!).

After all those years in prison, I finally got to enjoy Thanksgiving with my family. This year, I was able to host a Thanksgiving dinner that was beautiful and emotional for all of us. I enjoyed helping to prepare the ham, turkey, stuffing and real pie. The smells, the colors, the sounds, and the tastes were ones I had not experienced since I was a child. Although standing in long lines at the grocery store reminded me (ironically) of canteen lines in prison, being able to drive to the market to shop with my wife and kids seemed like the ultimate freedom.

I am forever thankful to ARC for giving me opportunities to give back. As my family said grace before our meal, I stood at the table and thought about all my brothers I couldn’t be with this year. While I suspect I will remember this Thanksgiving forever, I know that I will never forget the many who are still fighting to achieve freedom and be home for the holidays.
ARC's Hope and Redemption Team Life Coaches, Joseph Osorio (L) and Mark Taylor (R), serve the men inside Pelican Bay State Prison and live in Crescent City, California.

As you reflect on your own holiday experiences this season, please know that you have played a key role in Mark’s and Joseph’s return to their families and communities and that your support of ARC ([link removed][UNIQID]) is vital to more than 1,300 ARC members we serve across California.

With gratitude,

The Anti-Recidivism Coalition
