John, a personal hero of mine who helped pave the way for transformational district attorneys across the nation is under attack in Philadelphia. This is not a drill, this is REAL and it’s happening as you read this email.
Just this week, Pennsylvania House Republicans voted to form a committee with subpoena power to investigate Larry’s office as they look for a reason to impeach him.
They literally have NO proof that Larry has done anything wrong. They simply want to disenfranchise Black voters in Philadelphia and remove Larry from office even though he overwhelmingly won re-election just last year.
Conservatives are also attacking Larry because they know that he’s going to be the last line of defense for the city in protecting abortion rights.
It is a witch hunt. Just thinking about it makes my blood boil. And we will see these attacks multiply as conservatives realize the big role that our bold DAs play in the fight for abortion rights.
John, I’m calling on you right now to help us protect DAs like Larry from the backlash.
This new committee is going to cause even more trouble than we think.
This bill to investigate Larry is going to slow down his work. And what will Republicans do? Use that slowdown, CAUSED BY THEM, to point fingers at Larry for the lack of change he was able to make in the remainder of the year.
Conservatives might be getting crafty with their efforts to take us down, but let’s be clear: Larry won this election by a HUGE margin. Anyone who supports a recall attempt is opposing democracy.
Republicans are working day and night to prosecute women for seeking abortions, and they know that DAs like Larry are standing in their way. The ONLY way we’ll be able to go up against their big money is by building people-power.
It doesn’t matter if you can only afford to give $3, every single dollar you give will help us work to protect our DAs and elect more progressive prosecutors nationwide. PLEASE, make a donation to our DA Defense Fund right now. We are still around $17,000 away from our goal.
Love and appreciate you,
Shaun
