As the Supreme Court shreds our rights, the Democratic Speaker of the House took solace in poetry praising settler colonialism.
Dear John,
The Supreme Court’s latest opinion undermines not only environmental regulation, but even the government’s very capacity to consider it absent an unlikely act of Congress.
If your reaction to the Dobbs case included outrage, save some for West Virginia v EPA.
And save some outrage for Nancy Pelosi and the many Democrats—from Joe Biden to Dianne Feinstein—who have been actively complicit in the rise of the right wing Supreme Court.
In the past week, the Supreme Court has taken a hatchet to the First Amendment, breaking down the constitutional walls between church and state in two different cases.
It has undermined environmental regulation.
And it has deprived women, trans and non-binary folks the right to control their own bodies.
Some of us saw all this coming. That’s why I proposed over a decade ago that Congress check and balance the Court by imposing judicial term limits.
Thank you for supporting our work! Having challenged a figure whose corruption continues to find support from so any corners, I can’t tell you how much we appreciate your independence from the establishment and willingness to join us as we challenge it together.
