Friend,

The Supreme Court just announced a shocking decision that attacks the EPA, undermines the bipartisan Clean Air Act, and sets a dangerous precedent that could severely inhibit the federal government’s ability to act in the public interest.

The Clean Air Act really matters. It has allowed the EPA to prevent mass pollution and provided an important tool to protect Black, Brown, Indigenous, and frontline communities that bear the worst impacts of pollution and climate change.

We need a nationwide grassroots mobilization to fight back. Sign our emergency rapid response petition right now calling on Congress to do what the corrupted Supreme Court won't: Protect our future.

This decision is only possible because of GOP operatives' decades-long scheme to pack the Supreme Court with illegitimate extremists and weaken the federal agencies that keep us safe—all to line the pockets of Big Polluters. The supposedly nonpartisan court is just pushing through what past Republican Congresses have tried and failed to pass.

This isn't some abstract legal decision. These limits to the Clean Air Act mean more emergency room visits, more respiratory illnesses, and more early, preventable deaths. This dirtier air will hit our children, our grandparents, and our frontline communities first and worst.

It also means more climate-fueled disasters.

The good news (even though it's hard to see right now) is that Congress still has the power to do what the Court will not, which is why we're calling on them to swiftly pass a reconciliation bill that makes major investments in clean energy and environmental justice. It's a move that would rapidly accelerate a just transition to a clean energy future and help protect the climate for our families and communities—in spite of the Court's obstruction.

Tell Congress: Do what the corrupted Supreme Court won't, and protect our future.

We're not done here—with your help, we're going to continue to demand that our agencies and elected officials do what it takes to ensure a safe climate for all Americans. Thank you for your help.

Onward,

Jamal Raad
Executive Director, Evergreen Action
