On July 4th - all supporters in the Weld County area are invited to march with Ike ([link removed]) in the Greeley Stampede Parade and After Parade Pot Luck hosted by the Weld County Democrats.

If you’d like to march with us the Parade staging begins at 8:30 AM on 22nd Street near the corner of 10th Ave (by the University Center). And if you’d like to join us at the potluck afterward - it will take place after the parade at Noon at Wynne and Rick’s on 22nd Ave.

We hope to see you on the 4th!

II. Canvassing Kick Off

On Saturday, June 25th, we hosted our canvassing kick-off just in time for Ike’s Birthday on the 28th. Ike hosted HD44 candidate Bob Henry, CU regent candidate Jack Barrington, and a large group of volunteers at the Campaign HQ before they all went out and canvassed the surrounding Douglas county neighborhoods. It was a great start to canvassing, and we cannot wait for more of these canvasses!
We will be canvassing every Saturday this summer from 12 PM - 2 PM. Come and join us, to spread the word about Ike. If you are interested sign up for canvassing information here: [link removed]

III. Major Showing for Team McCorkle at Parker Days

For 45 years the city of Parker has been holding the Parker Days festival, starting as a small community get-together it has grown into a festival of hundreds of thousands of residents from across Colorado.

The McCorkle campaign helped set up the DougCo Dems tent at the Parker Days festival and Ike along with volunteers handed out over 1600 pieces of campaign literature to prospective voters throughout the course of the event.

Events like the Parker Days Festival remind us how communities put aside their differences to enjoy the things that bring us together. While handing out literature Ike ran into our opponent Ken Buck where we locked him into another debate for this Fall.

IV. Crossing the Aisle at the Colorado Cattlemen's Convention

Every year in June, the Colorado Cattlemen’s Association (CCA) gathers for a Colorado-wide meeting of cattle ranchers and policy-makers to discuss the future of the agricultural industry in their state.

Even though the make up of the CCA’s annual meeting leans conservative, Ike attended the meetup to bring to light the disappointing reality that our incumbent Congressman Ken Buck is actively harming the agricultural industry by voting against farming and fresh water bills that would bring new jobs and life to the Coloradan Agricultural sector.

We need to make ground with Republicans to rally the support we need to get Buck out of office and out of our House. Only by meeting in the middle and finding common ground can we turn one more district in Colorado blue and expand our razor-thin majority in congress.

V. Celebrating another Strong Year for Democrats at the 2022 Obama Gala

After COVID pushed the Colorado Democrat’s Annual Obama dinner online for the past two years, we were happy to celebrate in person once again!

Ike was invited to the 5th Annual Obama Gala this past May and met with state leaders like Senator Micheal Bennet (D-CO) [pictured above].

The event was a huge success and the Colorado Democrats are stronger than ever. Our state party has tremendous depth and the evening was a great reminder of what can be accomplished when Democrats in Colorado work together.

VI. Labor Solidarity at the Tom Hibbs' Labor Day Picnic

On May 1st Ike had the honor and privilege of attending the International Workers’ Day Picnic hosted by the Northern Colorado Labor Council, Poudre Education Association, and Fort Collins DSA. At the picnic Ike had the opportunity to meet with labor and union leaders who took us up to speed on the state of labor in 2022.

Among those in attendance were members of the Letter Carriers Union, AFLCIO, SEIU, as well as the Teamsters Union who stole the show by bringing out their big Teamsters semi.

That spirit of labor on the march was in the air that Sunday and we are grateful to stand in solidarity with the men and women dedicated to the well-being of our workers.
