Governor Laura Kelly Promotes Kansas in Open Letter to State’s College Graduates
TOPEKA – Governor Laura Kelly today sent an open letter to recent college graduates across Kansas, encouraging them to put down roots in the state. In the letter, she highlighted many of Kansas’ main attractions: low unemployment, a fun sports scene, and affordable housing.
"Keeping our young people here in Kansas is critical to the future of our workforce, communities, and economy," Governor Laura Kelly said. "I wrote this letter to our college graduates because I believe Kansas has so much to offer, from economic opportunity to family-friendly communities. My Administration will remain focused on making Kansas the best place in the country in which to live, work, and raise a family.”
Kansas ranks among the best states in the country in terms of economic opportunity. On Monday, Governor Kelly announced that since the start of her Administration, Kansas has attracted over $9 billion in new investments by private sector businesses. On June 20, Governor Kelly announced that Kansas' unemployment hit the lowest rate in recorded history at 2.3 percent. And in 2021, the Kansas City metro region was ranked third among the nation’s best-paying metros for recent college graduates.
