Love across the aisle

The newest installment of our volunteer video series features Soniyyah, a CCL group leader in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Soniyyah, who goes by Sonna, describes her community as “for the most part conservative, both in white and the black parts of town.”

Her powerful message: “It is possible to live in this world and to love someone who voted differently than you.”

Other news this week:

Giving Tuesday success: Thank you for your generous support on Giving Tuesday yesterday! We surpassed our $100,000 goal for the day.

Onward to our year-end goal: We’re now 20 percent of the way to our year-end fundraising goal of $500,000. We need your help to get there! Consider making a donation or setting up a Facebook fundraiser to ask your friends and other contacts for support.

Grassroots outreach: Superhero tabling prop

Looking for a creative tabling idea? How about this cute prop CCL’s Portland chapter made? The cutout features “Captain Dividend” and canine sidekick “Carbon Fee Fee.” It has been a hit with kids and adults alike at several tabling events! This forum post shares more details about how volunteers brainstormed and created this prop.

CCL volunteers are regularly activating the “five levers” of political will in their communities. To talk with other CCLers about their grassroots outreach and get support for your own, head to the “Grassroots Outreach” forum on CCL Community.
