Too many have made the same mistake of counting Donnie out "Dorchester" Donnie Palmer is taking on AOC's socialist "squad," looks to knock out top member U.S. Rep. Ayanna Pressley this fall Too many people have made the same mistake in counting Donnie out June 30, 2022 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Evan Lips, communications director 617-523-5005 ext. 245 BOSTON -- They kept telling him it simply wasn't possible. There was zero chance a political novice like professional boxer and teacher "Dorchester" Donnie Palmer would ever qualify for a position on the 2022 ballot to take on incumbent Democratic U.S. Rep. Ayanna Pressley. But Palmer had other plans. He beat the odds and managed to collect more than the required number of 2,000 signatures from registered Massachusetts voters necessary to qualify. Now he's trying to overcome even bigger odds in unseating Pressley, a top member of far-left New York Democratic U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's socialist "squad." "I just got tired of the nonsense, tired of people like Ayanna Pressley constantly casting themselves as the victim and trashing America," Palmer said when asked why he decided to enter the political ring. "Here you have someone who wants to defund the police, who voted against giving our U.S. Supreme Court justices additional security after one of them experienced an assassination attempt, yet she's surrounded herself 24/7 with her own personal taxpayer-funded security detail. "I mean, give me a break. Her only play is to claim to be the victim in everything that has ever happened in her life, and her only contribution in Congress is the ability to inject divisiveness into every single thing she does." Palmer, a single dad who has served proudly in the United States Army, is making his own breaks. He launched his campaign by himself and has pledged to bring a sense of unity and a pro-American attitude with him to Congress. Democrats like Pressley, Palmer said, have relied on division and the perception of being a constant victim solely to advance their own political careers. "There is no greater country on the face of the earth than the United States of America, and there is nothing more harmful to this nation than what Democrats like Ayanna Pressley are doing when they promote such toxic divisiveness," Palmer said. "Right from the jump, my campaign has been all about bringing people together and putting a stop to this culture of victimhood and vilification. "I am proud to run for Congress, proud to give people in this district a healthy alternative to the status quo, and most of all, I'm proud to be an American."
